Personal Academic Goals
I am a Geology major seeking transfer to a four-year college or university for the fall of 2015. By the end of 2017 I plan on having achieved my Bachelors of Science in Geology. I hope to complete Graduate school afterwards, entering the fields of Hydrology or Environmental Geology. I would love to work in my field doing research outdoors. Eventually, I would enjoy being a National Park Ranger and/or a teacher.
POLS 1 Student Learning Outcomes
1. Communications: Demonstrate a capacity to make a video and audio presentation on political topics.
2. Cognition: Demonstrate an ability to analyze the issues, organize ideas and synthesize the critical overall objectives of the assignment or presentation.
3. Information Competency: Select research materials guided by a critical understanding of the motivation and the objective of the author(s) topic and perspective.
4. Social Responsibilities: Demonstrate in a written or oral presentation, or classroom discussions a sensitivity to other people’s views and a respect for diversity when addressing religion, gender, age, ethnicity, physical limitations and social economic status.
5. Personal Development: Develop a capacity for time management, student responsibility and for learning progress.
POLS 1 Student Performance Objectives
1. Understand The United States Constitution and American Federalism.
2. Explain the Linkage system and struggle for Democracy.
3. Analyze the Struggle between the Elected Branches of American Government, the Appointed Branch and the struggle for civil liberties and rights.
Personal Semester Goals
1. Stop procrastinating
Do each section of Calculus homework the day the lesson is taught.
Send out DANA club summary emails immediately after each meetings.
Start class projects at least two weeks before the due date and finish at least 3 days before to review.
2. Get in better shape
Hike a cumulative minimum of 15 miles a week.
Run at least twice a week.
Learn to rock climb and go climbing at least once a month.
3. Get better grades
Complete all study guides before the exams and review the correct answers.
Show up to class early, we'll rested, and prepared.
Turn in all work on time or early.
